Development of Employee Numbers
We are investing in new business areas and expanding our portfolio via acquisitions. This is reflected in our human resources figures: As of December 31, 2016, the Group had 6,565 employees (previous year: 5,584), calculated on the basis of full-time equivalents. The number of full-time equivalents averaged 6,054 in 2016 (previous year: 4,880). In Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the average number of employees was 4,876 (previous year: 4,164 average full-time equivalents). This equates to growth of 17 % year-on-year and an 81 % share of the Group’s total employees (previous year: 85 %). [G4-10]

In 2016, we hired 670 women and 686 men in the core market of Germany. 43.4 % of the newly recruited employees were under 30 years old, 54.1 % were between 30 and 50 and 2.5 % of the new colleagues were over 50 years old. There was no seasonal variation in the number of employees at ProSiebenSat.1. The turnover rate totaled 10.0 % (previous year: 8.8 %). [G4-LA1]
